Time To Protect Your Hair. Harmattan Is Almost Here!
Posted by Main Admin on
Christmas bells are jingling and we're all excited. For some of us, it means one thing - the harmattan. As the harmattan is fast approaching, there are some steps you need to take to protect your hair. Leaving your hair out for longer times during this period may not be the best option...there's a caveat. We'll get into it later. Here are a few things you need to do to protect your hair during the harmattan.
Deep Condition
Hair tends to lose moisture faster during the harmattan. Deep conditioning regularly helps in restoring moisture to the hair. It also helps in improving the elasticity of the hair which is good for its overall health.
Moisturizing consistently
By now, you know natural hair thrives on moisture. Using the right products, moisturizing the right way and consistently will help in protecting your hair. As a base product, use the Aloe Vera Hair Mist or Hair and Scalp Spray or water. Apply your Leave in Lotion, followed by Shea Body Butter and your hair oil to seal in the moisture. If you have very dry hair, do this every morning and evening. Instead of using heavy oils, you can opt for lighter oils.
Protective Styling
This is the best time to install protective styles such as braids, cornrows, twists, etc. Before going in for any of these styles, deep condition your hair. Also, make sure to inform your stylist not to braid it too tight or very close to your edges. After installation, do not ignore your hair. Moisturize it regularly with the Aloe Vera Hair Mist. If you have an itchy scalp, go in for the Anti Itch Hair and Scalp Spray.
Protein Treatment
If you're already experiencing breakage, it is best to treat it. Protein Treatment every 6 weeks will do you good. The Hair Repair Therapy Set used during this time will also be beneficial. Combining these two coupled with good hair practices will restore your hair back to life. Please do not use these products if you are not experiencing breakage.
